Here's what you can expect...

After much deliberation and in consultation with Potomac Shores Golf Club, we have decided to proceed with the 2020 CG Classic on Friday, 9 October. While the foundational parts of this event are family, friends, ceremony, and camaraderie, we will not be able to incorporate all these this year. Due to COVID-19, we are forced to make several changes.

For a printable PDF of the list of changes, please click here

COVID-19 Check-in Station

  • Golfers are required to complete and sign a COVID-19 screening questionnaire before continuing to the registration desk. The questionnaire will be available at the check-in station.

  • A non-contact temperature will be taken. Anyone with a reading of 100.0*F or above will not be able to participate and will receive a full refund. Once you get a go-ahead, drop off your bags and head to the registration desk.

  • Masks are mandatory for entry into the clubhouse. We ask that they are worn to the max extent possible until we hit the course.

Registration

  • After the COVID-19 Check-in Station, golfers will go to the registration desk where raffle cards and mulligans will be available for purchase.

  • The only opportunity to participate in the raffles is prior to the start of the tournament. We will be unable to conduct a live auction or live drawings. Winners will be drawn while golfers are on the course. Winners will be posted and prizes ready for pickup immediately upon golfers’ return to the clubhouse.

Breakfast

  • Wrapped breakfast sandwiches will be under the tent, along with coffee and a full beverage service.

Range

  • There will be a shuttle to take players to/from the range, and we highly encourage the use of masks while on the shuttle.

Opening Ceremony

  • We will not have our traditional Opening Ceremony with the USCG Posting of the Colors. Once you are on your cart, we will reposition along the back of the Clubhouse for the National Anthem. All golfers will remain near their golf cart for the ceremony.

Golf

  • Captain’s choice format, max score of bogey with bunkers being lift clean and place due to no rakes.

  • There will be four static drink locations on the course to include the bar under the outside tent and one roving drink cart. All drinks are included in registration fee.

Post Golf/Lunch

  • Potomac Shores has outdoor and COVID separated seating for up to 45 people. We will also have some standing tables available under the tent. We encourage all golfers to wear a mask when not eating or drinking. We understand if you prefer to grab lunch and go. Raffles will already be marked with the winner’s name.

  • Boxed lunches will be under the tent and the bar will remain open for a period following the event.

  • Winners/prizes will be called out early without much fanfare. If you prefer to grab & go with lunch – Your prize will be mailed or delivered to you.

Virtual Golf!!!

We have a large number of family, friends and former tournament participants that, due to the travel and quarantine restrictions in their home states, find attending in-person impractical.

To keep this a family and friends’ event, we are offering virtual golf. Virtual golfers will play the same format on their home courses and we will collect the score cards on Friday. They will be awarded prizes separately.

While we know this is a strange time in history, we still want to Embrace our Inner Aaron and hope you will enjoy this great event. We ask that you keep checking this site as we finalize the details.

On behalf of the Aaron Redd Foundation, thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you all on Friday, 9 October!
